Each of the sections in the
Navigation table leads to a series of photographs or other such documents. At
the bottom, the "More" button will bring up a new set, if there is
one, and the "Previous" button will return to the last set. Within
the set, the View Next Image" button will go to the next image in the set,
and the "View Previous Image" will return to the last displayed image
in the set. The "Home" button will return the user to the beginning of
the section. To return to the main section, click on the “Main” button wherever
it is on the screen. You are encouraged to click on and read the “Comments”
sections for each image for up-to-date information regarding the case. Some of
these comments lead to linkages that will document or otherwise help you to
understand this complicated case.
The table
of references below these buttons will link the image to sections of the
Georgia State Habeas Corpus, or notes, or to the actual trial transcript or
motion hearings or to other web site documents on the Internet. If any comments
are included in the text of referenced materials, they will be in red, and
there are often additional links.
Within documents there are
hyperlinks to other documents that usually document the information you are
looking at. These linkages are always underlined and usually, but not always in
a different color. Use these links. They will clarify the material being
presented. The back-arrow at the top of the screen will always return you to
where you came from. Now read the tips on display below, and click on “now
begin”. The first link takes you into the trial transcript where States Exhibit
17 was presented to the jury. Then link to Exhibit 17 a few lines below. This then takes you to the actual
photograph. To enlarge the photograph, click on it, then click on the leftmost
icon is being pointed to by the “rearward arrow”. This is the “print preview”
feature which will allow you to expand the image up to 500 percent for better
viewing. Then return and link to the “State’s Exhibit Index” a few lines below
that. Finally link to the testimony of Crime Scene Technician Judy Graham where
she identifies Exhibit 17 as a photo of the driver’s side door just above. Now
begin. Remember the backward arrow will always return you to where you
were.
If you are new to the Michael Chapel case, it would be well to start with the Emogene Section and work your way down for better understanding.
To examine an image in greater detail, first click on file/print/preview icon button. If you have the print/preview icon in a toolbar, you may use it. The icon is white in color and looks like a letter with a spyglass. In print/preview mode, if only half of the image appears, click on the white icon on the left of the toolbar and change the orientation from Portrait to Landscape. Using the Zoom tools at the top of the page, the image may be enlarged to as much as 500 percent .To enlarge images, first click on the image itself, and then go to print/preview mode to enlarge the image. Try this on the two pictures of Mike Chapel in the upper left corner of the Main screen.
If your screen size is too small to
accommodate the displays, use windows function F11 to dispose of the windows
heading information.
