CS-DRIVER’S DOORS AND BULLET TRAJECTORIES

There is no high velocity blood spatter (HVBS) in the victgims front seat to support the prosecution’s theory as to Shot 1. To illustrate the trajectory of the “so-called ” Shot 2, examine the HVBS on the passenger windshield in Photo 1 to the left[1] Then observe the blood blowback on the driver’s backrest, seatbelt rightmost window and the blood seepage between the door and the frame in photo 2. The bullet trajectory from this evidence indicates the shot was fired from the left rear seat around the headrest. The little room afforded by that limited space makes firing a weapon difficult, thus the shooter was probably left-handed. Officer Chapel is right-handed.

Look again at Shot 2, the bullet trajectory from the shot in this photo would result in HVBS blowback directly at and soaking the shooter’s garments. This blowback would have resulted in a pattern exactly photo 3 at left. Again because this evidence did not fit the Prosecution’s theory, All traces of color on the driver door were removed using a negative “hue saturation” and other techniques The “bloodless” driver door shown in photo 4 was the result. Note even in photo 4, there remains a “pink” tinge at the bottom right of the door. Photo 3 at left is the result reversing the hue saturation to the door, thus, while not perfect, showing the HVBS blowback characteristics as in Photo (2) above right that resulted from Shot 2.

Now the Prosecution had to account from forward and blowback blood spatter from shot 1 and shot 2.. At trial, to show forward HVBS, the Prosecution passed off 2 pictures of the vehicle’s passenger door that showed blood smears as photos of the driver’s door despite the legend at the bottom of the photos indicating “passenger door”. These blood smears were in no way characteristic of HVBS. To show HVBS blowback, the Prosecution pointed to the 6 or 8 almost invisible spots of blood found circled by the GBI on Chapel’s raincoat. These pinprick spots could in no way account for the demonstrated massive blowback demonstrated here.

The HVBS seen on everything else is really on the inside of the windshield in this photo from outside the Mrs. Thompson’s automobile. In most cases, clicking on a picture will allow the user to enlarge that photograph in such a manner.
